Actually the association has changed his name by extending the range of action about the sheep milk production.

MILK PRODUCTION DATA BOTH NATIONALLY AND IN THE TUSCAN REGION

Milk cows on 1st Dec; '95 in the region: 25,000 head against 1,850,000 cows present in the whole national territory, a percentage of 1.35% of the national total.

·    Total production of milk on 1st Dec; '95 in the region: 125,000 tons against the whole national territory's production of 9,600,000 tons, a percentage of 1.2% of the total. Average production per head estimated for the year 1995: 3,550 Kg. against a national average production of 4,500 Kg. per head.

·     Average production per farm: 66.8 tons compared with a national average of 88.6 tons, a difference of 21.8 tons. After an analysis of the data and the above mentioned percentages, it is clear that the Tuscan livestock resources has a role of marginal importance compared with the line of production of national dairy-victualling, which cannot even cover the internal regional need.
